The Fourth of July and Other Adventures

I figured I should post something before I left for Cork tomorrow, since my mom will probably reprimand me if I don't. So, I'll start with yesterday, the fourth of July.

I had to work, which kind of sucked. We brought in flags and all, but I felt unpatriotic sitting in an office, when I should have been eating a hamburger, drinking a beer, and lighting off fireworks. But at least work wasn't terrible. The saga of us trying to get candy back in the basket continues, but that's OK.

After work, two of my housemates and one of my housemates co-workers went to the Hard Rock Cafe. We had planned on going to Captain America on Grafton St, but it was booked full. The Hard Rock was stupidly expensive, but we got our fix of American food. After that we went to Dicey's and left at 10:45. We were resting up for Thursday night.

Today at work was kind of miserable, a really long day. Two of my co-workers had called in sick, and the office felt empty. After work, I went back home, ate dinner, and my housemates and I went out.

We started at the Auld Dubliner, a bar in the Temple Bar area, which plays some good Irish music, which we had been jonesing for for a while. We drank over priced drinks and listened to two guys play a guitar and an accordion. They played Whiskey in the Jar and Galway Girl for us, so we were pretty happy. While Kristen, Brianne and I were there (everyone else had left to go elsewhere), we meet two American guys, brothers, who were pretty nice. We took them over to Bruskers, which was a bar down the street comparable to a cruise ship bar. Eventually, we wandered down to Copper Face Jacks, where we stayed for about 45 minutes and then left to go to McDonalds and then back to Shanowen.

So that's been my past couple of days, not too interesting, but Cork this weekend promises to be cool.
